small drone in flight

Aerial Photography & Video

I’m pleased to announce that I am now able to offer aerial photography and video to my clients, in conjunction with my normal ground-based services.

Using one of the latest small and lightweight drones, I can capture photos and videos in most locations with minimum fuss. The drone is small and quiet so won’t upset your neighbours! Maximum permitted height above the ground for drone flights is 120 metres, but usually we fly much lower than that – 120 metres is a long way up!

Drone photography or videography can be carried out at most locations, subject to landowner permission, and clearance from air traffic control if the flight is to take place within an airport’s Flight Restriction Zone (usually a radius of 5km). Drone flights are also weather-dependent of course – we can’t fly if it’s raining, too windy or visibility is poor.

Aerial photography

Photos up to 48 megapixels can be captured and will be supplied as ready-to-use JPEG files. Typical use cases include roof  inspections, aerial views of properties for sale, photos of new builds, solar panel installations, photography of gardens or plots of land.

Aerial video

Video can be shot at up to 4K resolution and up to 60fps (in 1080p we can shoot up to 120fps for slow motion). Most projects are shot in 4K or 1080p at 25 frames per second. Please ask if you’re not sure which video quality will best suit your needs. We can also shoot stills in sequence to create a timelapse video if required.

Registration, insurance and training

I am fully insured and have completed the necessary drone training courses. I am registered with the CAA as a drone operator (operator ID GBR-OP-YWLRQ9Q7B774).
