Environmental portraits for The Pull Agency

Having previously done some business portraits for local client The Pull Agency, I was pleased to be asked back to not only do a few more headshots but also to make some images of their office spaces and people at work, for future use in their own marketing materials and online.

Richmond business headshots | Baron Grey solicitors

Something a little different in the way of business headshots with this photo shoot for Baron Grey Solicitors in Richmond, Surrey. They are a long-established firm in the town and wanted to show their local connection by including the iconic Richmond Bridge over the Thames in the background of their business portraits.

UK Rail Industry Awards

A couple of weeks ago my colleague David Prior and I photographed the UK Rail Industry Awards at the amazing Battersea Evolution venue in south London. We covered the whole event from guests arriving until the dancing after the awards dinner. The keynote speaker was Sir Peter Hendy, Chairman of Network Rail, and the evening was hosted by actor and comedian Stephen Mangan.

Ferrari Champagne Road-trip to Reims

When I heard that my photographer colleague David was planning a trip down to Reims to gather material for an article for the Ferrari Owner's Club magazine and wanted a co-pilot, my hand was first in the air. David happens to be the proud owner of a Ferrari 328 GTS Targa, so that was of course the designated vehicle for the trip, especially as we were going to meet the owner of a Champagne house in Reims who is an avid car collector and happens to have a Ferrari Testarossa...

Santander Cycles spin-up class at The Shard

One of the fun things about being a commercial photographer is that you never know what you are going to be asked to photograph next! This week I was 300 metres up in the air - in the Viewing Gallery at The Shard in London, the tallest building in the EU.

Choiroke 2016 concert at Dorking Halls

Choiroke 2016 concert at Dorking Halls

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of once again photographing the Choiroke concerts at Dorking Halls.

Choiroke is an annual event bringing together amateur choirs from around Surrey to sing in a concert – with audience participation (hence the “-oke” part of the name!).

This year there were actually two concerts – one for schools choirs in the afternoon and then the adult choirs performed in the evening. (more…)

Tour of Britain 2013 cycle race – Stage 8

Well as I was up in London on Sunday anyway to shoot the catwalk shows at London Fashion Weekend, I thought I’d make it a real busman’s holiday and go and take some pictures of the final stage of this year’s Tour of Britain professional cycle race.

I’ve already posted some images from Stage 7 of the race, which ran from Epsom to Guildford in Surrey and passed quite near my home. The London finale was a very different affair – no hills, and instead of a continuous cross-country route it comprised ten laps of a course marked out along the Embankment between Whitehall and the Tower of London.

The useful thing about this format from my point of view was that I could park myself at a chosen spot on the route and have the cyclists come around in front of my camera ten times – or roughly every 12 minutes! This made it much easier to get a variety of interesting shots, as I could use different lenses, focal lengths and shutter speeds. On the normal road stages you get just one chance to take your pictures (lasting about 10 seconds) and that’s it, unless you can relocate to a different part of the course, which isn’t always easy when many of the roads are closed. London Fashion Weekend – September 2013

So as the autumn season comes around, it’s time for London Fashion Week again – and another trip to Somerset House on the Strand to photograph the catwalk shows at Vodafone London Fashion weekend.

This season they featured the rising Indian designer Ashish, as well as a medley of designs on the themes of “Pretty in Pink”, “Back to Nature”, and “Victoriana”, reflecting the season’s trends. (more…)
